About Consuming Fruits

Together with raw animal foods, fruits have been supplying us with all the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, protein ,sugars and fatty acids we need(ed) ,for millions of years.

For those fruit-combinations that (in combination with a little animal food) supply you with all required nutrients most effectively, click here

Because humans are very much adapted to eating lots of fruits, humans cannot even produce vitamin C (anymore), unlike most animals.

Fruits are not just their for us, consuming fruits, humans also serve multiplication of fruit trees ; through spreading the indigestible stones and pips, originating new trees. To prevent those stones and pips from being destroyed through chewing, many of these contain toxins. Other pips (like in kiwis) are just to small to be destroyed through chewing. When you blend fruits, be sure all pips (and stones of course) are removed.

Of course you can also blend tomato with cucumber, chives and cold-pressed olive oil and/or olives (for info about olive(-oil) click here), and perhaps some garlic.

Fruit meant for humans mostly is little colorful, to avoid attracting birds. Berries on the other hand are colorful, attracting birds, and mostly contain somewhat-toxic substances (like cyanogenics) to prevent being consumed by mammals.

Different fruits contain different substances restraining us from consuming too much of one kind of fruit only, thus making us eat different kinds of fruits, together containing all the vitamins and minerals you need. (see site3)

Isn't nature wonderful ?

Bananas contain much (useless) serotonine, what has to be decomposed by enzymes.

Acerolas and guava contain extremely much vitamin C. Consuming to much vitamin C can cause diahrea.

Lemon, currants and apricot contain much citric acid. Grapes and nuts contain much ellagic acid. Kaki in particular, but also bilberries, grapes and strawberries contain much tannins. Citric acid, ellagic acid and tannins inhibit nutrient-absorption.

Complex carbohydrates like lignins, cellulose, pectins, pentosanes and hexosanes are extremely hard to decompose. Bilberries contain most pentosanes. Currants contain extremely much lignins, hexosanes and cellulose. Dried apricot contains extremely much pectins. Coconut, durian, guava and Jackfruit contain quite some cellulose.

Fruits like melon, cherries, granadilla, pineapple, plum, orange, mandarin and mango, but also papaya, peach and banana contain the least hard-to-degrade complex carbohydrates.

If consumed when perfectly ripe, actually all fruits taste nice. Unfortunately, in many stores (and even at whole sales) they don't know how to treat fruits.

Most fruits don't ripe well when maintained below 12° C. Mangos don't ripe below 20°C.

Avocados contain very much vitamins, but only the real creamy ones. Avocados ripe between 18 and 25° C, and taint below 12°C.

Fresh (non-dried-) dates almost always have been frozen, for they are very hard to maintain. So you better consume dried dates.

Of course canned fruits aren't raw either.

Don't consume brown-spotted figs, for their sugars partly have been transformed into acids.

Fresh figs mould very easily. Dried figs can be maintained (in a cardboard box) for years, and even taste much better after having been stored for a year, due to transformation of acids into sugars.

Bad substances

Of course also fruits often contain substances that shouldn't be in it. Due to over-fertilization (especially in low-sun countries) strawberries and apples can contain nitrite.

Dried fruits often are sulfured, for example making apricot bright orange instead of natural brown-orange (and black-spotted). Besides that, the non-sulfured ones also are sweeter.

Also lots of pesticides are sprayed on almost all fruits, therefore all fruits should be peeled before consumption.

Fruits and .....

Gripes ; Don't consume fruits within 2 to 3 hours after having consumed raw proteinaceous food, for that will probably cause gripes.

Gasses ; To prevent dried fruits from causing gasses (in men in particular) ,these dried fruits should be soaked for about 24 hours.

Mucus ; Consuming proteinaceous food (and milk in particular) increases mucus secretion, what can be eliminated by consuming sufficient fruit-sugars during the night.

Vitamins ; Combining the right fruits, you only need a little animal food every once and a while to obtain cholesterol (and vitamin D) and vitamin B12. (see site3)
